We had no understanding of the side effects that may be caused by puppy vaccinations. I could remember the children had mild symptoms after their inoculations, along with a loss of appetite, which made me think to look up information on line from a reliable source.
I found the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) website really helpful as it actually listed all Freya’s symptoms as ‘mild side effects’. It gave us some reassurance that what she was experiencing was common, but we also had the reassurance that we could take her back to the breeder so that their vet could check her over the next day.
The AVMF also advised that if the side effects lasted for more than a couple of days, or your puppy is in ‘significant discomfort’ to get in touch with the veterinarian.
